The AI Artists Alliance is concerned with both the threat and opportunity of AI, and the relationship between humans and machines. We have been watching AI, and the rate of change is accelerating. It seemingly came out of nowhere and suddenly, it’s everywhere. Excitement is growing and so is fear. AI is here, for better or worse, and clearly, we can no longer bury our heads in the sand. Humans and machines are entering into a new relationship, as intellectual collaborators.

We can see that AI is going to massively transform the art world and the world in general. Our view is that art currently has a huge responsibility and opportunity to highlight environmental challenges, to help shape the direction that AI is taking society, and to help keep the human spirit alive by doing what art has always done: making people feel and think more deeply. With funding support from the Brill Family Foundation, we are here to encourage and enable artists to explore the important role that art needs to play in this pivotal moment, and to support each other in facing the future.
